In questo venerdì ricco di nuove uscite ecco un altro gradito ritorno, quello di James Bay.
Il cantautore inglese si ripresenta al pubblico con un pezzo ben di verso da quelli che l’hanno lanciato nel panorama musicale, Let It Go e Hold Back the River in primis. Nuovo taglio di capelli, via il cappello e spazio ad un nuovo James Bay che strizza l’occhio all’R&B in questa nuova slow jam dai suoni futuristici.
L’artista ha ammesso che questo nuovo capitolo della sua vita artistica è ispirato in particolar modo a Lorde e Frank Ocean
“Ci sono momenti del nuovo album che sono una sorta di ponte tra The Chaos And The Calm e la nuova musica, ma la cosa migliore che ho potuto fare è stata quella di ascoltare altre cose. Mi sono immerso in Frank Ocean, LCD Soundsystem, Chance The Rapper, David Bowie, Lorde…tutti questi suoni che non si legano al primo album ma lo fanno largamente con quello che verrà. Sono davvero felice di poterlo far ascoltare alla gente”
Un cambio di rotta drastico e, forse per questo, un po’ inaspettato dopo un solo album. Vedremo se i fans apprezzeranno lo stesso.
